Сьогодні у Києві співробітники турецького посольства напали на активістів, які прийшли протестувати проти військового вторгнення Туреччини у Рожаву — країну курдів на півночі Сирії. Про це Нігілісту повідомила учасниця акції Наталя Луньо.

Активісти розгорнули плакати із закликами припинити агресивні дії, і на них накинулись люди у ділових костюмах з посольства. Спешу турки просили лейтенанта Нацгвардії на прізвище Іщук забрати в активістів плакати. У нього не вдалося, і тоді люди з посолбства самі накинулися на протестувальників — вони виривали плакати і били активістів.

«Один із чоловіків, імовірно працівників посольства, накинувся з кулаками на учасника й учасницю акції та втрапив кулаком в обличчя дівчині й хлопцю. Схоже, його роздратували закриті обличчя й плакат з написом «Fuck Erdogan». Один з чоловіків напав на нас з паркувальним стовпчиком, але ми відбилися», — розповіла учасниця акції Луньо. 

Бійці НГУ в цей час стояли в стороні і спокійно дали нападникам повернутись на територію посольства. Одній з учасниць акції розбили обличчя, тож активісти викликали на місце події поліцію та швидку.

Напередодні в Одесі в аналогічній події відмітилися українські правоохоронці, затримавши активістів з плакатами, які стояли біля генконсульства Туреччини. Молодих людей у відділку залякували проблемами з СБУ.

Що відбувається? Українська держава ігнорує свавілля Туреччини на своїй території так само, як ігнорувала російських військових та найманців на початку 2014 року в Криму та на Донбасі?  

Якщо наша дипломатія не здатна засудити турецьку агресію проти курдського народу, який б’ється за незалежність із ісламістами та диктаторами, це не означає, що держава разом із турецькою стороною має атакувати власних громадян.

In Kyiv today, Turkish embassy staff in Kyiv attacked activists protesting the Turkish war on Rojava – a self-governing Kurdish enclave in Northern Syria. This is according to information given to Nihilist by protest participant Nataliya Lunio.

Activists were waving posters calling for an end to Turkish aggression before they were attacked by people in business attire from the Turkish Embassy. The Turkish staff quickly asked a Ukrainian National Guard lieutenant, Ishchuk, to seize the protester’s signs and posters. He didn’t manage to do so, and in response the Turkish embassy staff themselves seized the signs — they tore the signs out of the activists hands, and used physical force against the protesters.

«One of the men, most likely embassy staff, punched the protesters and landed a hit on one man and woman. It seems like he was angry about the fact that the activists had covered their faces and were waving a sign with the slogan “Fuck Erdogan.” One of the embassy men attacked us with a parking column, but we manage to fight him off,» said Lunio.

At the same of the fight, Ukrainian National Guardsmen stood off to the side and allowed the attacked to safely return to embassy territory. One of the protesters suffered injuries to their face, and was taken away by ambulance.

Earlier in Odessa, a similar situation played out with Ukrainian law enforcement, who detained activists protesting near the Turkish consulate. The young protesters were threatened with Security service of Ukraine (SBU) involvement.

What’s going on? Is the Ukrainian government is ignoring Turkish violations of Ukrainian rights, the same way it ignored the appearance of Russian soldiers in Crimea and Donbas in 2014?

If Ukraine’s own diplomatic corps is unsuited to confronting Turkish aggression against the Kurdish people, who are fighting for independence against radical Islamists and dictators, that doesn’t mean that it has to be silent in the face of Turkish attacks on Ukrainian citizens.
