The political reason for the fall of the power of the Yanukovych «family» was the breaching of obligations by the authorities to the classes. Parliament adopts a budget, keeping in mind the criticism and the wishes of groups of influence. The government secretly steals, but does not kill the poor. The authorities can ignore or press the protest, but torture and murder in relation to the dissenters should not be used. In January 2014, the government violated all these rules and lost «legitimacy» in the eyes of the people.
Novorossia is a non-class project: the workers in it are fighting against other workers, and not against the capitalists. The workers are not fighting under the leadership of the workers’ party, but under the leadership of the Moscow oligarchs and Russian fascists. Novorossia is an anti-humanistic project: its agents deny the diversity of religions and life-styles, any right of an unarmed person.
Due to the circumstances, the anarchists were not only permissible, but it was also necessary to join the ranks of the armed formations. Not to «defend the territorial integrity», «take revenge» or «cut Russians», but in order to protect the freedom that remained in Ukraine, and return it to where it was expelled by the aggressors.
It happens that the fascists behave like revolutionaries. They fight with the police, expose large property fraud, use their flags at the strikes. This is their common tactic. They manipulate something precious and close to target audience’s heart by using flattery. When there is a need to agitate the masses of dissatisfied — fascists will build barricades, turn over cars and embody other dreams of an embittered citizen. And then, on a wave of universal trust, they come to power and turn the country into hell.
We affirm that schools and universities, museums and galleries, offices and factories, restaurants and stadiums, streets and squares are all «places for politics». Not for the official stuff, not for the authorities and the opposition travesty, but for real politics. It can only be emancipatory and revolutionary in the conditions of total domination.
Today the demagogic label «anarcho-fascism» can be considered quite real. It cannot be called a doctrine, although there are some attempts to give it an ideological justification. Today anarcho-fascism is a set of beliefs and practices within the movement of alternative right.
It is really easy to imagine enemies as monsters, inhumans, stupid animals who devoid of all human virtues and embody all vices. But this is an erroneous approach. All crimes and abominations are committed by «normal guys» who are «a bit wrong». There are not only monsters to hate. Good, honest, sincere, kind people sometimes deserved all this hate. When we say «all cops are bastards», we do not indicate their personal qualities. We point to the repressive function that they perform.
Editorial site NIHILIST are anarchists and anti-authoritarian radical left.
We allow ourselves to call a spade a spade directly honestly and sincerely. We are not afraid to seem «unconstructive», because we understand that «constructiveness» is a so-called «fair play».
We are not afraid to offend someone’s feelings and aesthetic tastes, because these feelings and tastes are formed by the system we are fighting against.
Anarchist January 19 committee canceled carrying of anti-fascist event in Kyiv. Taking into consideration the tangible advantage of far-right militants, which in groups were located near the place of a rally, and taking care for event participants’ safety, the accountables for the event coordinated a retreat. All participants and visitors safely left for homes. On the same day in Kyiv there were attempts to carry another anti-fascist event, which ended up with confrontation with a numerous group of far-right militants, including the ones who related to so-called Civilian Corps of Azov regiment.
That left-wing ideas are now a casualty of geopolitics isn’t unique to Ukraine. And the divisions between radical nationalists, moderate patriots and pro-Russian forces will set the course of Ukrainian politics for the foreseeable future.
